✦Built with a youth psychologist

Say what you mean, before it’s sent.

Hartly is a keyboard for teenagers’ phones. It notices when a message could land hard or when someone sounds low, and offers one small, kind next step. Right where they type, in every app.

How it works

Three small moments. That’s the whole idea.

Hartly stays out of the way until a moment matters. Then it offers one thing, and the teen decides.

01 · The nudge

Before something cruel sends

A quiet line above the keys offers a kinder way to say it. They can take it, change it, or send it anyway.

Hartly says“That could land hard. Say it differently?”
02 · A tool

When someone sounds low

One of the psychologist’s tools, sized for a phone: a single breath, fact or feeling, what’s yours to control.

Hartly says“Rough day? Want to take one breath first?”
03 · Help

When it’s serious

Kids Helpline, Lifeline, 000, and a message to the trusted adult the teen chose. One tap, always.

Hartly says“You don’t have to carry this alone.”

Try it

Type like a teenager. See what Hartly does.

Pick a message. These are example answers to show the idea, not the live check.

Pick a message

Every example is made up. Please don’t type anything real.

The tools

A psychologist’s toolkit, sized for a text.

Each tool is built on well-studied ideas from talking therapies, reshaped to take a few seconds. Evidence-informed, never a replacement for a person.

One breath

A single paced breath before you send. Try it now.

Breathe in

Say this instead

The same thing, said so it lands the way you meant. Offered in one tap.

Fact or feeling?

Sort what actually happened from how it felt. Both are real; only one is the whole story.

What’s yours to control?

Hold what’s yours. Put down the rest, for now.

Negative, neutral, positive

Move one step up: from a harsh thought, to a neutral one, to a kinder one.

My person

The trusted adult the teen picks, one tap away. Not always a parent. Their choice.

Privacy

Built so teens keep it on.

Nothing typed leaves the phone

By default the check runs on the phone. If an extra check is ever used, the message isn’t kept and isn’t used to train anything.

Parents never see messages

The most a parent sees is that Hartly was switched off. Never what was typed.

Partners see totals only

Groups of 20 or more. Never names, messages or anything about one family.

Help is never blocked

Calls, 000 and crisis lines always work, whatever else is switched on.

For partners

Families never pay. Partners bring it to them.

Hartly reaches teens through the companies families already trust.

Health funds

A benefit that keeps families

Offer Hartly to members’ teenagers as part of their cover.

Phone companies

Safe on the first phone

Offer Hartly with a teen’s first phone or plan, activated with a code.

Apps and chatbots

Built into your app

A deeper connection: both sides of a chat, a pause at Send, and checks on chatbot replies.

$0charged to families. Ever.
